Position Overview
The Chief Information Security Officer (CISO) at Ferrovial Energy is tasked with the comprehensive management and implementation of robust cybersecurity measures to ensure the organization and its subsidiaries maintain a high level of security against cyber threats. This pivotal role encompasses the initiation, planning, execution, maintenance, and enhancement of all facets of cybersecurity within Ferrovial Energy.
Key Responsibilities:
- Direct and expand the cybersecurity division of Ferrovial Energy in alignment with business requirements.
- Establish a cybersecurity framework tailored to the needs of Ferrovial Energy's various business units, subsidiaries, and joint ventures through the development and execution of a strategic cybersecurity plan.
- Engage in negotiations on behalf of Ferrovial Energy's business units regarding contracts and terms related to the essential cybersecurity standards that must be upheld.
- Ensure the implementation of effective security measures and controls across products and services developed through digital and technological initiatives.
- Oversee the ongoing maintenance and progressive enhancement of these security measures throughout the lifecycle of products and services.
- Manage and supervise security projects, including the initiation and launch of benchmarks and proof of concepts.
- Oversee cybersecurity vendors providing services to Ferrovial Energy's business units and subsidiaries.
- Maintain regular communication with senior management to update them on the cybersecurity status, project milestones, and compliance with cybersecurity standards.
- Support the risk management and internal audit functions within Ferrovial.
- Identify opportunities to enhance cybersecurity services across Ferrovial Energy's business units and subsidiaries.
Required Qualifications:
- Master’s Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field.
- 7-10+ years of experience managing complex cybersecurity environments throughout their lifecycle.
- Prior experience in the energy or utility sectors.
- Proven track record in defining, implementing, and refining security strategies and governance frameworks in large organizations, particularly in international contexts.
- Expertise in risk management frameworks.
- Knowledge and experience in OT, ICS, and IoT cybersecurity, particularly regarding ISA/IEC 62443 Standards, Purdue Model, and Defense in Depth strategies.
- Experience with the deployment and assessment of ISO 27001, NIST CSF, and ENS certified environments.
- Proficiency in identifying and addressing risks related to legal and compliance requirements.
- Ability to define, monitor, evaluate, and enhance security architectures and infrastructures in corporate and international settings.
- Familiarity with architecture models such as SASE and Zero-Trust, with additional experience in NIST guidelines being advantageous.
- Competence in security incident management and business continuity planning.
- Knowledge of cyber intelligence practices.
- Experience in conducting audits and security assessments.
- Skills in cybersecurity awareness, communication, and training.
- Relevant security certifications such as CISA, CISM, CISSP, CPP, ISO 27001, SANS are preferred.
- Proficient in English, with strong writing, speaking, and comprehension skills; fluency in conversations is essential.
- Strong negotiation skills for contracts with regional implications.
- Capability to manage remote teams on a national and international scale.
- Ability to work effectively under tight deadlines.
- Proactive multitasking, problem-solving, and innovative process implementation skills in a fast-paced environment.
