Job Title: Strategic Real World Evidence Advisor/Director of Real World Evidence and Outcomes

Job Summary:

Lilly is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Strategic Real World Evidence Advisor/Director of Real World Evidence and Outcomes to join our team. As a key member of our Value, Evidence, and Outcomes (VEO) team, you will play a critical role in accelerating equitable patient access and transforming healthcare delivery through the execution and communication of bold, high-impact science.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Strategy: Drive sustained integration of Real World Evidence (RWE) from early clinical development through commercialization.
  • Develop and oversee RWE research strategy: Develop and oversee RWE research strategy for compounds in the Lilly portfolio in the relevant therapeutic area(s).
  • Serve as a strategic partner: Serve as a strategic partner on lead/core teams throughout development and/or commercialization.
  • Formulate and drive Real World Evidence: Formulate and drive Real World Evidence for priority products and geographies.

Study Development and Execution:

  • Develop bold high-impact science: Develop bold high-impact science for products across the lifecycle to influence and support evidence needs for Lilly products in support of improving patient outcomes.
  • Apply technical expertise: Apply technical expertise appropriate for the role (e.g., scope or depth in statistical analysis, clinical trials, observational/epidemiologic research, or other value assessment) within a therapeutic area.
  • Apply disease state knowledge: Apply disease state knowledge and research methods to generate RWE evidence for registration, pricing, reimbursement, access, and other external stakeholders such as healthcare practitioners.

Organizational Leadership and Influence:

  • Link technical expertise with business acumen: Link technical expertise with business acumen and establish and maintain strategic relationships with key internal and external decision makers.
  • Effectively lead RWE evidence planning: Effectively lead RWE evidence planning and implementation in collaboration with cross-functional teams across the development and commercialization lifecycle teams.
  • Effectively integrate with and influence: Effectively integrate with and influence key business partners and external stakeholders to achieve goals and outcomes.

Information Dissemination:

  • Effectively communicate RWE information: Effectively communicate RWE information to internal business partners, the scientific community, and customers.
  • Drive research dissemination strategies: Drive research dissemination strategies and lead research communication efforts including abstracts, posters, podium presentations, promotional materials, and manuscripts.
  • Plan for, align, and drive application: Plan for, align, and drive application of results/deliverables to increase the impact of RWE work.

Environmental Awareness:

  • Maintain awareness of significant developments: Maintain awareness of significant developments in disease states in the Lilly portfolio and RWE field including current RWE methodologies and applications.
  • Anticipate and evaluate future market needs: Anticipate and evaluate future market needs and trends for RWE information within pertinent therapeutic area and geography of interest.
  • Monitor and influence internal and external environmental factors: Monitor and influence internal and external environmental factors that shape and impact generation and use of RWE research.

Project Management:

  • Ensure RWE projects meet timelines: Ensure RWE projects meet timelines, budget, and scope by coordinating research efforts with cross-functional Lilly business partners and external collaborators as appropriate.

Minimum Qualification Requirements:

  • Doctorate (PhD, MD) or PharmD/MS degree: Doctorate (PhD, MD) or PharmD/MS degree with significant experience in creating, executing, and delivering outcomes strategies/projects.
  • Proven track record: Proven track record in leading impactful real-world evidence from study concept to dissemination of findings.
  • Substantial experience: Substantial experience in designing innovative and/or applying advanced methods for RWE studies.
  • Strong comprehension and communication skills: Strong comprehension and communication skills including the ability to translate and disseminate complex scientific information in a clear and concise manner.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to influence and collaborate: Demonstrated ability to influence and collaborate within and across teams.

Additional Preferences/Information:

  • Understanding of healthcare systems: Understanding of healthcare systems in at least one of Europe and/or Asia.
  • Understanding of and experience with healthcare delivery models and clinical research: Understanding of and experience with healthcare delivery models and clinical research.
  • Technical and analytic capabilities: Technical and analytic capabilities across the following areas: real-world evidence, patient-focused outcomes, burden of disease, epidemiology, statistics, healthcare policy.
  • Demonstrated ability to drive research agendas: Demonstrated ability to drive research agendas to completion and dissemination.
  • Ability to think and act globally: Ability to think and act globally with a customer focus and a solution orientation.
  • Creative thinking and ability to lead: Creative thinking and ability to lead the generation of innovative approaches to real-world evidence.
