**Job Responsibilities**

As a Rooms Division Training Specialist, you will be responsible for:

  • Developing a comprehensive training plan for the Rooms Division, covering Front Office, Housekeeping, and Guest Services operations.
  • Collaborating with the Chief Operations Officer, Area Manager, and Department Heads to identify training needs and objectives.
  • Designing training materials, manuals, and resources tailored to the specific needs of the hotel's Rooms Division.
  • Coordinating training schedules, logistics, and resources to ensure a smooth and efficient training process.
  • Conducting in-depth training sessions for Front Office, Housekeeping, and Guest Services teams, focusing on operational procedures, service standards, and guest interaction.
  • Utilizing a variety of training methods, including classroom instruction, hands-on demonstrations, role-playing, and on-the-job training.
  • Ensuring that all Rooms Division staff are proficient in using property management systems (PMS), housekeeping software, and other relevant tools.
  • Facilitating cross-departmental training to promote teamwork and a holistic understanding of hotel operations.
  • Leading operational simulations, soft openings, and trial runs to assess staff readiness and identify areas for improvement.
  • Assisting in establishing and refining standard operating procedures (SOPs) for the Rooms Division.
  • Monitoring the implementation of brand standards and service protocols, making adjustments as necessary.
  • Working closely with department heads to ensure all operational aspects are aligned with the hotel's goals and standards.
  • Providing coaching and mentorship to new hires, fostering a culture of excellence and continuous improvement.
  • Assessing the skills and competencies of Rooms Division staff, providing feedback and additional training as required.
  • Identifying and nurturing high-potential employees for future leadership roles within the Rooms Division.
  • Encouraging a guest-centric approach in all training activities, emphasizing the importance of personalized service.
  • Offering ongoing training and support during the initial weeks of operation, addressing any challenges or issues that arise.
  • Collecting feedback from staff and guests to evaluate the effectiveness of training programs and make necessary adjustments.
  • Working with the Chief Operations Officer to refine training content for future hotel openings.
