About the Role

We are seeking a highly qualified individual to lead the business development efforts of a non-European Automotive Tier1 supplier generating revenues of 20 million euros annually and willing to enter Europe and grow market share.

As a key provider of Electric Vehicle (EV) solutions to international Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs), our company serves as a renowned leader in the automotive industrial sector within its country.

Our product portfolio encompasses a diverse range of EV and Plug-in Hybrid Electric Vehicle (PHEV) on-board systems, including DC/DC converters and On-Board Chargers (OBC). Additionally, we specialize in Fuel Cell Electric Vehicle (FCEV) solutions, particularly high-power solutions tailored for hydrogen-based mobility.

The work is based in Barcelona, and we offer the flexibility of remote work, albeit with a requirement for occasional travel as per business needs.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and Implement Business Strategies: Create and execute comprehensive business development strategies aligned with organizational objectives and market dynamics.
  • Lead Negotiations and Contract Discussions: Engage in negotiations and contract discussions with prospective clients and partners to secure new business opportunities.
  • Cultivate Strategic Partnerships: Identify and cultivate strategic partnerships and collaborations to enhance market presence and drive revenue growth.
  • Build and Maintain Relationships: Establish and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including OEMs, suppliers, industry associations, and government bodies.
  • Collaborate Cross-Functionally: Work with internal teams, including sales, marketing, product development, and finance, to drive coordinated business development efforts.
  • Monitor and Evaluate Performance: Track and assess the performance of business development initiatives, and adapt strategies as necessary to achieve desired outcomes.
  • Represent the Organization: Represent our company at industry events, conferences, and trade shows to promote brand visibility and networking opportunities.
Requirements
  • A degree in Engineering, Economics, Business Administration, or a related field; or equivalent practical experience.
  • Proven track record of success in business development, preferably within the automotive, mobility, or technology sector.
  • Strong understanding of the automotive industry, particularly in the realm of Electric Vehicle (EV) technologies and solutions.
  • Exceptional communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and influence stakeholders at all levels.
  • Strategic mindset with the ability to analyze complex market dynamics and identify growth opportunities.
  • Entrepreneurial spirit and a proactive approach to problem-solving, with a demonstrated ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
  • Sensitivity to sustainability topics and a deep conviction as a supporter of the paradigm shift in mobility enabled by new energy vehicle technologies.
  • Fluency in English; additional languages (German/French/Italian) would be advantageous.
  • Willingness to travel as required to fulfill job responsibilities.
