About the Role
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Support Technician to join our Microscopy Platform team at the Vall d'Hebron Institut de Recerca. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for providing technical support and assistance to researchers and scientists in the use of microscopy equipment and techniques.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide technical support and assistance to researchers and scientists in the use of microscopy equipment and techniques.
- Develop and implement new protocols and applications for microscopy, including automated image analysis.
- Manage and register the preventive and corrective maintenance of equipment, under established quality procedures.
- Control and purchase consumable materials, and write technical documentation and support materials for user training.
- Attend training activities and participate in quality management system ISO9001:2015.
- Support other UAT Platform services, as needed.
Requirements
- University Degree in Health/Life Sciences.
- Master's Degree and/or PhD related to biomedical research.
- Fluency in Catalan, Spanish, English (B2 level or equivalent).
- Previous experience working in a microscopy core-facility, using widefield and confocal microscopes at operator level (1-year minimum).
- Demonstrable experience in cell culture and sample preparation techniques used in optical microscopy.
- Demonstrable experience in acquisition and image analysis software.
- Specific training in image analysis programming with R, Python, ImageJ.
- Informatic general skills at a user level.
