About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and organized Technical Support Specialist to join our Field Service Operations team at Geotab Inc. This role requires a strong technical background, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work effectively with internal and external stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with Geotab Product and R&D personnel to ensure our product, accessories, and solutions meet the needs of our customers and partners.
  • Conduct site visits to support new telemetry interfacing initiatives, strategic pilot programs, installation audits, and troubleshooting.
  • Manage third-party Installation Partner networks and relationships, ensuring seamless communication and collaboration.
  • Provide technical support to customers, including technical details, specifications, and data requirements based on Geotab product offerings.
  • Advise Sales teams on technical applications and provide input on RFP responses, including time and pricing for installation services.
  • Stay up-to-date with new advances in technology and adapt to growing market demands, driving innovation and suggesting new ideas.
  • Develop and implement Installer Certification Tests, ensuring high-quality installation standards are met.
  • Update installation documents and product guides with the latest information, ensuring accuracy and consistency.
  • Work with installers to ensure they understand and use the Field Services department price list for installation services.
  • Perform installations in the field as needed, providing demonstrations, training, or supporting pilot projects.
  • Create installation videos and guides, collaborating with Learning and Development teams.
  • Author quarterly newsletters for installation partners, sharing company news and updates.
  • Manage the installer network database, maintaining accurate records and ensuring compliance with company policies.
  • Source and qualify new installation partners, building strong relationships and ensuring high-quality service.
  • Resolve installer issues and concerns, providing timely and effective support.
  • Support Geotab's global strategic initiatives, driving business growth and success.
Requirements
  • Deep knowledge of automotive electronic components and systems.
  • Experience managing third-party contractor relationships and ensuring high-quality service.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively communicate technical information to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Ability to learn and absorb new procedural information, disseminating it to end-users and ensuring seamless implementation.
  • Strong analytical skills, with the ability to problem-solve and make well-judged decisions.
  • Highly organized and able to manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously, prioritizing tasks and meeting deadlines.
  • Strong interpersonal relationship-building skills, with the ability to engage with all levels of the organization.
  • Technical competence using software programs, including Google Suite for Business (Sheets, Docs, Slides).
  • Entrepreneurial mindset and comfortable working in a flat organization, driving innovation and suggesting new ideas.
  • Proficiency with working with automotive/electronics test equipment and comfortable working with hand tools.
  • Knowledge of communications systems and networks (Cellular, GPS, serial data).
