About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled R&D Electrical Engineer to join our team at HITACHI ENERGY SPAIN, S.A.U. in Zaragoza, Spain. As a key member of our R&D Team, you will contribute to the development of innovative electrical design solutions for dry-type transformers.

Your Responsibilities

  • Develop and analyze innovative electrical design concepts for dry-type transformers to meet the technical requirements of new markets.
  • Design and supervise the manufacturing and testing of prototypes to validate proposed solutions.
  • Lead the execution of R&D projects to ensure performance, time, and cost are within expectations.
  • Document project progress, obtain conclusions, and derive design rules for validated solutions.
  • Protect validated solutions by applying IP protection measures.
  • Collaborate with other R&D colleagues to analyze and optimize electrical design solutions for other projects.
  • Provide technical support to factories, salespeople, and customers.
  • Adhere to HITACHI ENERGY's core values of safety and integrity.

Your Background

  • BSc or MSc in Electrical Engineering or a related field. Higher formal education is an asset.
  • At least 2 years' experience in product development and/or design of electrical equipment, preferably dry-type transformers.
  • Knowledge of magnetic, electric, and/or thermal design of electrical equipment.
  • Strong background in using electrical FEM simulation tools, preferably ANSYS Maxwell.
  • Initiative, creativity, and attention to detail.
  • Collaborative approach, strong communication skills, and fluency in Spanish and English.
