Network Operations Specialist

Giesecke+Devrient is a leading global provider of security technologies, ensuring safety in both physical and digital realms. Our innovations are integral to the daily lives of billions, enhancing payment processes, identity verification, connectivity, and data protection. We are currently seeking a Network Administrator to join our team in Barcelona.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee the daily operations of our data centers to ensure seamless service delivery.
- Collaborate with Infrastructure Operation Engineers, Application Engineers, and Second Level Support Engineers to maximize efficiency, performance, and system availability.
- Spearhead the troubleshooting of network and firewall issues, as well as network performance challenges.
- Support the transition and transformation efforts of our infrastructure.
- Conduct a thorough analysis of the existing IT Network and provide actionable recommendations to improve system reliability, availability, serviceability, and scalability in line with GSMA standards.
- Monitor and manage our environments through the integration of telemetry and observability tools.
- Drive continuous service improvement initiatives focused on optimization, efficiency, and high availability.
- Assess and incorporate cutting-edge technologies into our existing systems.
Candidate Profile:
- A university degree or Certificate of Higher Education in Computer Sciences or a related technical/engineering field.
- Proven experience in managing complex network and platform setups within on-premise data center operations.
- Proficient in Cisco products such as DCNM, Nexus, NX-OS, Load Balancing, and Firewalls, along with strong Linux skills.
- Familiarity with automation tools like Ansible and monitoring solutions such as Nagios.
- Solid understanding of compliance and information security requirements in service operations.
- Strong analytical skills, problem-solving capabilities, and a proactive approach to continuous self-improvement.
- Excellent collaboration and communication skills across various functional teams.
- Proficient in English, both written and verbal.
