Lead Technical Director

As a key member of the Skydance team, you will play a crucial role in guiding the development and support of innovative tools for production teams. Your expertise will be instrumental in creating solutions that enhance productivity and meet the high-quality standards set by the company.

Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with artists and production management to identify and implement solutions that improve the production pipeline.
  • Partner with engineers to design, develop, and refine tools and processes for feature film production.
  • Provide technical support and guidance to artists and production teams.
  • Report on the status of technical development projects, tool performance, and production operations.
  • Continuously evaluate and improve the user experience, satisfaction, and understanding of production pipelines.
Requirements
  • 6 years of experience in VFX or animation industries.
  • 1 year of experience in animation industry.
  • BS degree in Computer Science or equivalent practical experience.
  • Deep understanding of 3D animated film production pipelines and workflows.
  • Expertise in Python and experience building tools for Maya, Houdini, and Nuke.
  • Experience with Linux and Windows operating systems.
  • Experience with version control systems (Git) and Renderman and Arnold is a plus.
  • Ability to document digital processes and technical solutions.
  • Practical knowledge in continuous delivery and agile methodologies.
  • Advanced English level and Spanish oral and written skills are desirable.
