Senior Researcher on Structural and Digital Design, Automation, and Fabrication Technology

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced researcher to join our team at Tecnalia. As a Senior Researcher on Structural and Digital Design, Automation, and Fabrication Technology, you will play a key role in driving innovation and advancing our understanding of complex structural design and engineering problems.
Key Responsibilities- Project Management: Lead the techno-economic management of R&D projects, ensuring successful execution and delivery of results.
- Technical Development: Contribute to the technical development of R&D projects, focusing on data-driven fabrication technologies for 3D printed products and industrialized building systems.
- Research and Development: Generate novel ideas and solutions to address the challenges faced by the construction sector.
- Planning and Coordination: Plan and coordinate R&D project activities, optimizing resources and costs.
- Risk Management: Identify and manage risks, developing contingency plans and mitigating activities.
- Client Relationships: Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients, ensuring their needs are met and expectations exceeded.
- Proposal Development: Prepare and submit R&D proposals for industrial clients and public calls, at national and European levels.
- Intellectual Property: Stimulate the development of new intellectual property by monitoring the state-of-the-art and market evolution in digital fabrication technologies.
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- Advanced Degree: A degree in Civil and Environmental Engineering, Architecture, Structural Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
- Technical Background: Strong technical background in building materials, multiparametric design, industrialized building systems, and data-driven design and automation.
- Experience: At least 4 years of experience in R&D project management, coordination, and execution, with a focus on structural and digital design and fabrication technologies.
- Soft Skills: Proactive and results-oriented profile, excellent analytical, organizational, and teamwork skills, proficient in English (C1 level or equivalent), and good communication skills.
