Job Summary

Expeditors International is seeking a highly skilled Air Import Agent to join our team. As an Air Import Agent, you will play a critical role in ensuring the smooth and timely movement of freight and information within the Air Department.

Key Responsibilities

  • Ensure accurate and timely data entry into our operating system to facilitate efficient freight processing.
  • Track and trace Air Import files as required to maintain transparency and accountability.
  • Utilize Workflows on a daily basis to streamline processes and improve productivity.
  • Ensure timely delivery of freight to customers for Import shipments, meeting or exceeding customer service standards.
  • Verify that documents are accurately prepared and sent to customers or brokers for customs purposes, adhering to regulatory requirements.
  • Contribute to the development of strong relationships with suppliers, including airlines, trucking companies, and other service providers.
  • Ensure compliance with all regulations, including internal policies and procedures, as well as external government regulations and customer requirements.
  • Identify areas for process improvement and implement changes to enhance efficiency and productivity.
  • Collaborate with customers to understand their standard operating procedures and ensure adherence to these guidelines.
  • Meet Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) as outlined in company procedures.
  • Provide exceptional customer service, responding promptly to emails and requests from internal and external stakeholders.

Requirements

  • 2 years of related experience and/or practices; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Understanding of air documentation processes is a plus.
  • Effective interpersonal skills, including the ability to listen, comprehend, and communicate clearly and concisely to achieve positive results.
  • Pro-active and strong organizational skills.
  • IATA certification is preferred.
  • Fluency in English is required.
