Expeditors International is seeking a highly skilled Air Import Agent to join our team. As an Air Import Agent, you will be responsible for ensuring the timely and accurate movement of freight and information, while providing exceptional customer service within the Air Department.
Key Responsibilities
- Ensure smooth and timely freight process flow, maintaining high levels of efficiency and productivity.
- Accurately and timely enter data into our operating system, ensuring seamless tracking and tracing of Air Import files.
- Utilize Workflows on a daily basis to streamline processes and improve overall performance.
- Ensure timely delivery of freight to customers for Import shipments, meeting or exceeding customer expectations.
- Verify that all necessary documents are sent to customers or brokers in a timely manner for customs purposes.
- Accurately and timely bill clients and Service Providers, maintaining a high level of financial integrity.
- Interact with customers to arrange international shipments, providing exceptional customer service and meeting service standards.
- Contribute to maintaining strong relationships with suppliers, including airlines, trucking companies, and other service providers.
- Ensure compliance with all regulations, including internal policies and procedures, as well as external government regulations and customer policies.
- Understand and maintain knowledge of department process flow, identifying areas for improved efficiency and implementing changes as needed.
- Ensure all customers' standard operating procedures are followed and updated, maintaining a high level of customer satisfaction.
- Meet Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) standards, as per company procedures.
- Communicate effectively with customers and internal stakeholders, providing timely responses to emails and requests.
Requirements
- 2 years of related experience and/or practices; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Understanding of air documentation process is a plus.
- Effective interpersonal skills, including the ability to listen, comprehend, and communicate clearly and concisely to obtain positive results.
- Pro-active and strong organizational skills.
- IATA certification is preferred.
- Fluent in English (will be tested).
