Job Summary
Expeditors is seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented professional to join our team as an Air Import Agent. As a key member of our Air Department, you will be responsible for ensuring the timely and accurate movement of freight and information, while providing exceptional customer service.
Key Responsibilities
- Ensure smooth and timely freight process flow, including accurate and timely data entry into our operating system.
- Track and trace Air Import files as required, utilizing Workflows on a daily basis.
- Ensure timely delivery of freight to customers for Import shipments, and that documents are sent to customers or brokers for customs purposes in a timely manner.
- Accurately and timely bill clients and Service Providers, while maintaining strong relationships with suppliers (airlines, trucking companies, and others).
- Meet compliance requirements, including internal policies and procedures such as Operational Process Standards (OPS) and external government regulations or customer's policies / requirements.
- Understand department process flow, identifying areas for improved efficiency and implementing changes as needed.
- Ensure all customers' standard operating procedures are followed and updated, meeting KPI standards as per company procedures.
- Provide overseas communications, responding to emails and requests (internal and external) in a timely manner.
Requirements
- 2 years of related experience and/or practices; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Understanding of air documentation process is a plus.
- Effective interpersonal skills, including proven abilities to listen, comprehend, effectively communicate clearly and concisely to obtain positive results.
- Pro-active, strong organizational skills.
- IATA certification is preferred.
- Fluent in English (will be tested).
