Your Role
As a Carrier Manager, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth and economical transportation of goods. You will engage daily with Shippers and Carriers to coordinate transport arrangements, align requirements with available capacity, and negotiate costs as necessary.
In your daily operations, you will conduct quality assessments on active shipments using the CtrlChain platform, ensuring that all updates are accurately reflected. You will also address any inquiries or escalations from customers and carriers, collaborating closely with Sales and Customer Success teams to establish relationships with new clients and enhance Shipper Operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Fostering and expanding relationships with existing carriers and shippers.
- Conducting thorough evaluations of carriers to establish high-quality partnerships.
- Coordinating and scheduling carriers for both recurring and ad-hoc shipments.
- Identifying and communicating additional transport costs to shippers while negotiating reductions with carriers.
- Recognizing opportunities for structural improvements in the carrier database for specific routes or clients.
- Performing daily quality checks on ongoing shipments and updating the CtrlChain platform accordingly.
- Overseeing the order flow lifecycle and client shipments, ensuring timely and accurate communication.
- Addressing any questions, special requirements, or escalations from customers and carriers.
- Collaboratively developing and maintaining Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for all Shipper Lanes.
Who You Are
- You possess a completed educational degree.
- You have a minimum of 1 year of experience in freight forwarding operations, preferably with courier or FTL management.
- You are knowledgeable about the road transportation sector.
- You demonstrate excellent communication skills in both Spanish and English.
- You are proficient in Office 365 applications.
- You are a proactive problem solver and a collaborative team player.
- You exhibit clear and effective communication abilities.
- You possess strong planning, negotiation, and customer service skills.
