Gilead Sciences, Inc. is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Manager to lead our Medical Affairs Project Management team. As a key member of our organization, you will be responsible for executing medical affairs activities and scientific projects based on our medical strategy and plan of action.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and execute medical affairs plans and strategies to support our therapeutic area goals.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including medical affairs, clinical research, marketing, and sales, to ensure alignment and effective execution of projects.
- Develop and conduct medical education and communication activities, including digital, face-to-face, and print.
- Manage and maintain strong working relationships with external medical experts, including academic societies and regulatory groups.
- Plan and conduct advisory boards to obtain insights and feedback.
- Present scientific and clinical data in various settings, including national and international scientific meetings.
- Support the generation of scientific data through collaboration with Gilead personnel in R&D and Clinical Operations.
- Advanced scientific degree (MS, PhD, PharmD, MBA).
- Excellent clinical and scientific understanding of virology, desirable with former experience in the HIV area.
- At least 5 years of experience in a relevant medical/scientific role, preferably in the pharmaceutical industry.
- Ability to embrace Gilead's leadership commitments and patient-centric values, including highest ethical and compliance standards.
- Strategic mindset with a focus on collaboration and excellence.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, in Spanish and English, along with the ability to understand, analyze, and communicate medical concepts in a clear and concise way.
- Strong interpersonal and relationship building skills.
- Ability to successfully navigate fast and dynamic situations where there is ambiguity, uncertainty, and change.
- Excellent organizational skills, including attention to detail and prioritization.
- Ability to work in a cross-functional matrix.
- Preferably experience of working in an international environment.
- Thorough understanding of departmental and company policies, processes.
- Expertise in one or more of the functions listed above.
- Demonstrated success in leading cross-functional teams.
- Demonstrated success in developing/growing a functional area.
- Demonstrated success in working closely with management to develop effective and creative solutions to complex problems.
- Demonstrated ability to influence individuals, groups outside immediate control.
- Ability to manage highly complex multiple projects simultaneously.
