Main Responsibilities:

As a Senior Researcher in Advanced Composites Manufacturing, you will be part of our Advanced Composites Technology team, responsible for:

  • Developing R&D projects on automated manufacturing of polymer composites, including work plan definition, experimental test control, results analysis, monitoring reports, deliverables, and presentations.
  • Staying up-to-date on the state-of-the-art related to composites under R&D projects.
  • Attending congresses, conferences, and other scientific and dissemination events.
  • Generating ideas and technical innovations, participating in National and European R&D project proposals, including definition of technical approach, objectives, state-of-the-art, and work plan.

Requirements:

  • Degree in Industrial Engineering, Materials Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or any other field containing Materials Science and Engineering.
  • Master's or PhD in the field of composites or Materials Science and Engineering.

Desirable Skills:

  • Previous expertise of at least 5 years in R&D in composites manufacturing.
  • Deep knowledge/specialization in polymer composites.
  • Industrial Engineering or Materials Engineering Degree highly valued.
  • Advanced level of MS Office software and auxiliary management tools.
  • Advanced English level with capacity for project management, proposal elaboration, networking, dissemination, article writing, etc.
  • Availability to travel.
  • Driving license and own vehicle.

Desirable Qualifications and Skills:

  • Knowledge on automated manufacturing of polymeric matrix composites, such as Automated Fiber Placement (AFP), Automated Tape Laying (ATL), or Robotized Additive Manufacturing.
  • Composites testing: common techniques and tests (physical, chemical, mechanical, thermal).
  • Process monitoring and quality control of composite technologies.
  • Knowledge of R&D calls (National and European) mainly in Horizon Europe Program.
  • Team-working abilities in dynamic and multidisciplinary working environments.
  • Advanced organizational skills and high autonomy level.
  • Commitment and responsibility. Orientation to results.
