Job Summary
The Contract Manager will serve as a key advisor and business partner to the Iberia Cluster, providing guidance on contract-related matters and ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements. This role requires a strong legal contract knowledge and a compliance-driven mentality.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and review agreements, including clinical trial, healthcare-related agreements, commercial agreements, vendor and supplier agreements, and master agreements.
- Coordinate with assistants and other Biogen affiliate and international teams in the contract management process.
- Collaborate with the Legal Corporate function to create, modify, and approve contract templates and master agreements.
- Own and maintain contracts and addendums database, ensuring it is up-to-date.
- Communicate with vendors and/or service providers to resolve contract issues and act as a first point of contact for inquiries on contracts.
- Monitor and follow up on framework agreements signed and their renewal/extension/close-out.
- Develop and deliver training programs on contract management to managers and employees.
- Support Corporate Administration activities, including clinical trials, and provide guidance on contractual and legal-related activities.
Collaboration and Support
- Closely collaborate and support the Legal function on Iberia Cluster legal matters, contracts, and general corporate and pharmaceutical law.
- Closely collaborate and support the Compliance function on Iberia Cluster compliance and governance risk.
- Closely collaborate and support the Finance function in relation to procurement processes, vendors, and others related to the Iberia cluster activities.
Qualifications
- Law degree.
- Fluent in English and Spanish; preferred fluent in Portuguese.
- 6+ years of experience as an attorney (law firm or in-house).
- Strong experience in contracts.
- International experience a plus.
- Experience/knowledge in Pharmaceutical, Healthcare, Life Science sector and/or regulated environments/compliance related to FCPA.
- Organizational skills and management of different teams.
- Results-oriented, with a high level of autonomy.
