The Marketing Automation Specialist is tasked with spearheading the design, development, and execution of sophisticated marketing automation initiatives utilizing Marketo. This position demands a profound comprehension of marketing technologies, a strategic approach, and the capability to collaborate with diverse stakeholders to enhance marketing campaigns and refine lead management workflows. You will lead a team focused on Marketo and manage the backlog effectively.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Strategic Development: Formulate and execute comprehensive marketing automation plans leveraging Marketo to align with the organization’s marketing objectives.
  • System Design: Architect and sustain the Marketo framework, ensuring seamless integration with other platforms such as CRM, CMS, analytics, and third-party services.
  • Campaign Oversight: Direct the planning, execution, and enhancement of marketing campaigns, including email outreach, lead nurturing, lead scoring, and multi-channel marketing strategies.
  • Data Governance: Maintain data integrity and quality within Marketo and associated systems, manage database segmentation, and facilitate data migration initiatives.
  • Performance Analytics: Create and uphold reports and dashboards to assess campaign effectiveness, providing insights and recommendations to boost marketing performance.
  • Collaboration with Stakeholders: Partner closely with marketing, sales, IT, and external partners to ensure marketing automation processes meet business needs and goals.
  • Training and Guidance: Offer training and support to marketing teams on best practices for utilizing Marketo, while staying abreast of the latest features and industry developments.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Ensure all marketing efforts adhere to relevant regulations and best practices, including GDPR, CAN-SPAM, and other data privacy standards.

Qualifications:

  • A degree in Economics, Marketing, Business, or a related field.
  • 3+ years of experience in data-driven campaign management or marketing automation platforms (such as Adobe Campaign, Marketo, HCL Unica, Oracle Eloqua, SAS MA, Emarsys, etc.).
  • Basic knowledge of and experience with relational databases.
  • Strong analytical skills that facilitate problem-solving and data-driven insights.
  • A solid affinity for working with numerical data and spreadsheets.
  • Experience in international projects and collaborating with remote teams.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • A customer-oriented mindset.
  • Proficient in English (both verbal and written).

Preferred Skills:

  • Familiarity with HTML, CSS, and/or JavaScript.
  • Experience with project management and issue tracking tools like JIRA.
  • Proficient in wiki-based documentation tools, such as Confluence.
  • Additional language skills, including German or Spanish, are advantageous.
  • Eligibility to work within the EU and/or Switzerland.
