Objective:

Ayuda en Acción is seeking a specialist in Education in Emergency (EiE) to enhance its role and knowledge in this vital sector, recognizing that education is a key focus of our development efforts and an area where we possess significant expertise.

As a member of the Emergency Unit, the EiE specialist will offer technical guidance and leadership at two distinct levels: at Headquarters, ensuring the organization's influence in the sector; and at Country Programs level, enhancing the quality of projects and activities. This includes providing training, support in project formulation, and monitoring and evaluation of interventions related to EiE or incorporating EiE components. The specialist will ensure that learning and training initiatives uphold high educational standards to develop the skills, capacities, and knowledge of participants in accordance with the expectations of major humanitarian donors.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop an internal strategy for EiE by compiling insights and experiences gathered within Ayuda en Acción;
  • Create an intervention model for EiE tailored to the organization’s needs;
  • Prepare and update capacity statements regarding Ayuda en Acción's projects in EiE and formulate advocacy strategies for the sector;
  • Provide technical support to National Programs in drafting project proposals for various donors and in the monitoring stages of actions;
  • Develop essential tools, guidelines, and protocols, ensuring consistency across all educational programs;
  • Oversee the review of existing materials and/or the creation of new resources on EiE;
  • Design and refine straightforward monitoring and evaluation tools for EiE;
  • Actively engage in forums and working groups on EiE, leading Ayuda en Acción's involvement in the INEE network;
  • Advise and support National Offices in EiE forums and working groups at the national level;
  • Create EiE training modules and programs that offer a comprehensive framework and practical tools for project implementation;
  • Facilitate training and provide support to local partners to enhance their understanding of institutional donor requirements and reporting skills related to EiE;
  • Contribute to the production of high-quality reports;
  • Perform additional tasks as required by the Emergency Unit Coordinator and/or Sectorial Responsible.

Requirements:

Knowledge and Experience:

  • University degree or equivalent in education or related fields;
  • A minimum of 3 years of experience working in EiE within humanitarian contexts;
  • Prior experience in writing project proposals for various international donors such as ECHO, BHA, AECID, or other institutional donors;
  • Familiarity with the INEE framework;
  • Experience in conducting educational needs and risk assessments and developing response plans;
  • Strong negotiation, problem-solving, and conflict resolution abilities;
  • Capacity to manage multifaceted programs and prioritize multiple tasks;
  • Experience in building partnerships and collaborating with local entities;
  • Effective time management skills.

  • Highly Valued:
  • French: B2 advanced intermediate

Geographical Mobility:

  • Positioned in Madrid, with a hybrid work format (60% - 40%) and flexibility to travel for short missions.

Other Requirements:

  • Proficient in Windows (Advanced)
  • Knowledge of MEAL tools
  • Familiarity with the operational contexts of Ayuda en Acción would be advantageous.

Offer Conditions:

  • Immediate incorporation;
  • Contract duration: Undefined with a 6-month probation period;
  • Work schedule: Hybrid format, 40 hours per week, with intensive hours during the summer;
  • Work location: Madrid;
  • Salary in accordance with Ayuda en Acción's remuneration policy.
