About the Role

Ayuda en Acción is seeking a highly skilled Education in Emergency Specialist to join our team in Madrid. As a key member of our Emergency Unit, you will play a crucial role in deepening our organization's expertise in Education in Emergency (EiE) and supporting our Country Programs in improving the quality of their projects and activities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop an internal EiE strategy by gathering information and experience from within Ayuda en Acción.
  • Design and implement an intervention model in EiE for the organization.
  • Prepare and update capacity statements on AeA projects in EiE and develop advocacy plans for the sector.
  • Support National Programs in the preparation and submission of project proposals for different donors and monitor their progress.
  • Develop necessary tools, guidelines, and protocols for education programs and harmonize them across all programs.
  • Coordinate the revision of existing materials and/or the development of new ones on EiE.
  • Design, adjust, or revise simple EiE monitoring and evaluation tools.
  • Participate in forums and working groups on EiE and lead Ayuda en Acción's participation in the INEE network.
  • Advise and accompany National Offices in EiE forums and/or working groups at the national level.
  • Develop EiE training modules and programs that provide a general framework and relevant practical tools to support project implementation.
  • Facilitate training and/or other support to local partners to enhance their efforts in understanding institutional donor requirements and reporting skills related to EiE.
  • Support high-quality reports.
Requirements
  • University degree or equivalent in education or a related field.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience working in EiE in humanitarian contexts.
  • Previous experience in project proposal writing for different international donors such as ECHO, BHA, AECID, or other institutional donors.
  • Knowledge of the INEE framework.
  • Experience in conducting educational needs and risk assessments and response plans.
  • Strong negotiation, problem-solving, and conflict resolution skills.
  • Ability to work on multifaceted programs and prioritize multiple tasks.
  • Experience in developing partnerships and working with local partners.
  • Time management skills.
Language Requirements
  • Essential:
    • Spanish: C1 advanced
    • English: C1 advanced
  • Highly Valued:
    • French: B2 intermediate advanced
Working Conditions
  • Based in Madrid, hybrid format (60% - 40%) with flexibility to travel to Ayuda en Acción National Offices for short missions (max. 30 days).

  • Windows (Advanced)
  • Knowledge of MEAL tools
  • Knowledge of Ayuda en Acción operation countries and contexts would be an added value.

  • Ability to work independently and take initiative.
  • Ability to travel nationally and regionally when deemed appropriate and safe.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
Offer Conditions
  • Incorporation: Immediate
  • Duration of contract: Undefined with a 6-month probation period
  • Workday: Hybrid format, 40 hours per week, with intensive work during the summer.
