About the Role

Ayuda en Acción is seeking a highly skilled Education in Emergency Specialist to join our team in Madrid. As a key member of our Emergency Unit, you will play a crucial role in deepening our organization's expertise in Education in Emergency (EiE) and supporting our Country Programs in improving the quality of their projects and activities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop an Internal EiE Strategy: Gather information and experience from within Ayuda en Acción to develop a comprehensive strategy for Education in Emergency.
  • Develop an Intervention Model: Create a model for Education in Emergency interventions that aligns with our organization's goals and objectives.
  • Prepare/Update Capacity Statements: Develop and update capacity statements on Ayuda en Acción's projects in Education in Emergency, as well as develop advocacy plans for the sector.
  • Support National Programs: Provide technical support to our National Programs in the preparation and submission of project proposals, as well as in the monitoring and evaluation of their activities.
  • Develop Tools and Guidelines: Develop necessary tools, guidelines, and protocols for Education in Emergency, and harmonize them across all education programs.
  • Coordinate Material Revision/Development: Coordinate the revision of existing materials and/or the development of new ones on Education in Emergency.
  • Design/Adjust/Revise Monitoring and Evaluation Tools: Design, adjust, or revise simple Education in Emergency monitoring and evaluation tools.
  • Participate in Forums and Working Groups: Actively participate in forums and/or working groups on Education in Emergency, and lead Ayuda en Acción's participation in the INEE network.
  • Advise and Accompany National Offices: Advise and accompany our National Offices in Education in Emergency forums and/or working groups at the national level.
  • Develop Training Modules and Programs: Develop Education in Emergency training modules and programs that provide a general framework and relevant practical tools to support project implementation.
  • Facilitate Training and Support: Facilitate training and/or other support to local partners to enhance their efforts in understanding institutional donor requirements and reporting skills related to Education in Emergency.
  • Support High-Quality Reports: Support the development of high-quality reports on Education in Emergency activities.
Requirements
  • Education: University degree or equivalent in education or related fields.
  • Experience: Minimum of 3 years of experience working in Education in Emergency in humanitarian contexts.
  • Project Proposal Writing: Previous experience in project proposal writing for different international donors, such as ECHO, BHA, AECID, or others.
  • INEE Framework: Knowledge of the INEE framework.
  • Needs and Risk Assessments: Experience in conducting educational needs and risk assessments and response plans.
  • Negotiation and Problem-Solving Skills: Strong negotiation, problem-solving, and conflict resolution skills.
  • Ability to Work in Multifaceted Programs: Ability to work in multifaceted programs and prioritize multiple tasks.
  • Partnerships and Local Partners: Experience in developing partnerships and working with local partners.
Language Requirements

Spanish: C1 advanced

Geographical Mobility
  • Based in Madrid, with flexibility to travel to Ayuda en Acción National Offices for short missions (max. 30 days).
Other Requirements
  • Windows (Advanced)
  • Knowledge of MEAL tools
  • Knowledge of Ayuda en Acción operation countries and contexts would be an added value.

  • Ability to maintain good working relationships in an international and multicultural environment, being able to work under pressure.
  • Ability to work independently and take initiative.
  • Ability to travel nationally and regionally when deemed appropriate and safe.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
Offer Conditions
  • Incorporation: Immediate
  • Duration of contract: Undefined with a 6-month probation period
  • Workday: Hybrid format, 40 hours per week, with intensive work during the summer.
