About the Role

The Legal & Compliance Iberia Lead provides a full range of legal and compliance advice and services on issues concerning the rights, obligations, and privileges of the Spanish and Portuguese organisation. This role will provide you with the opportunity to lead key activities and progress your career.

Key Responsibilities
  • Management of external advisors to ensure appropriate legal and compliance support across Spain and Portugal.
  • Development and recommendation of policies and practices on issues presenting potential legal and compliance risk.
  • Counsel leadership of Spanish and Portuguese markets on legal, policy, compliance, transactional, and commercial issues, integrating legal and compliance knowledge with understanding of business and risk management.
  • Engagement with external legal counsel to interpret pending or new legislation and regulatory rules affecting the business, ensuring compliance or strategy changes when appropriate.
  • Education of client businesses on sound legal and compliance practices and new developments affecting the business.
  • Negotiation of contracts of high value or legal sensitivity with external parties.
  • Work with the business to ensure appropriate governance over other contracts and relevant compliance records.
  • Management of litigation in accordance with Haleon's strategy, working with Haleon's Group Litigation Department.
  • Review of business, scientific, commercial, sales, and marketing communications, advising on appropriate strategy/language to manage risk while maximizing business benefit.
  • Contribution to the development of Haleon strategy and risk management through active participation in regional teams and proactive work with Compliance and global legal teams.
  • Promotion of ethical decision-making and acting as an advisor to ensure activities in the market are aligned with Haleon's Code of Conduct and the core value of 'Always Do the Right Thing'. Active participation in activities related to our Compliance Program, which includes anti-bribery and corruption (ABAC), conflict of interest (COI), Speak Up, and Privacy.
