Job Description

We are seeking a talented Functional Safety Engineer to join our Electronics Team in IDIADA HQ, Tarragona. As a member of our team, you will be part of the structure of a vehicle manufacturer and work on applications related to functional safety applied to different systems of the vehicle.

Responsibilities
  1. Define vehicle features according to customer design, including Adaptive Cruise Control, Lane Keeping Assist, Thermal Management, and Battery Management System.
  2. Analyze potential hazards in case of electric and electronic malfunctions and assess risks.
  3. Define safety goals and functional safety requirements to prevent hazardous events.
  4. Develop technical safety requirements and safety architectural design of vehicle features.
  5. Validate vehicle features for safety.
  6. Support improvement of procedures and methodologies, including checklist, templates, and guidelines.
  7. Participate in project definition and quotations, including communication with clients and internal meetings.

Requirements

A good background in Electronics or Mechanics, passion for the automotive industry, willingness to learn, and availability to work with worldwide OEMs are the main requirements.

Desired Skills
  1. ISO 26262 standard knowledge.
  2. Experience in Electric/Electronic or other development areas.
  3. Experience from the side of OEM and/or supplier.
  4. Knowledge of different vehicle architectures.
  5. Excellent team-working, organization, and communication skills.
  6. Knowledge of traditional Office suites.
  7. Willingness to travel.
Education

Bachelor's degree or Master's degree in Electronics, Mechanical, Automation, or similar.

Languages
  1. Fluent in English and Spanish.
  2. Knowledge of German is an asset.
  3. Other languages are valuable.
