Position Overview:
The Quality Manager plays a pivotal role in executing and implementing the Strategic Quality Plan alongside the plant leadership team. This position serves as the representative for the Quality Management System, overseeing quality resources to ensure product consistency with established standards, regulations, and customer expectations. The Quality Manager provides comprehensive quality leadership to customers, suppliers, and internal stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage the quality interface with customers to ensure requirements are clearly understood and met.
- Oversee the problem resolution process for both internal and customer-related issues, ensuring adherence to deadlines and utilizing standard reporting tools.
- Monitor Customer Scorecard performance and engage relevant departments in root cause analysis and corrective actions when necessary.
- Lead the Plant Quality Department and ensure effective quality management systems are implemented across operations.
- Support the development and launch of new products and processes, including leading APQP activities and managing PPAP submissions.
- Conduct audits of internal quality systems and compliance with industry standards (e.g., IATF 16949, VDA, ISO 9001).
- Ensure production part approval documentation meets customer requirements for new or modified products.
- Analyze quality metrics and conduct managerial reviews to assess performance and recommend operational improvements.
- Facilitate participation in product development and launch activities, ensuring alignment with customer expectations.
- Approve quality documentation related to processes, including Control Plans and Standard Work Instructions.
- Validate Quality Lab processes and ensure compliance with product evaluation requirements.
- Confirm daily production line startup verifications.
- Initiate and authorize product containment activities as necessary.
- Verify measurement systems for tools and devices used in production.
- Possess the authority to halt any process or product delivery in the event of non-conformance with customer expectations or safety standards.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in engineering or a related technical field from an accredited institution.
- A minimum of 6 years of experience in a quality role within a manufacturing environment, particularly in the automotive sector.
- At least 2 years of experience in a leadership or managerial capacity within a quality department.
- Fluency in English is required.
