Job Summary
The Plant Quality Manager is a key member of the Lear Corporation team, responsible for leading the execution and deployment of the organization's Strategic Quality Plan. This role serves as the Management Representative for the Quality Management System, ensuring product flow consistent with established internal standards, industry standards, government regulations, and customer requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Quality Leadership
- Manage the Quality/customer interface to proactively assure requirements are understood and satisfied.
- Responsible for the problem resolution process, whether internal or customer-identified issue, which includes ensuring timing deadlines are met and using standard reporting tools (8D or customer-specified report variant).
- Responsible for Customer Scorecard performance and engaging the applicable department or area in root cause/corrective action activity if not meeting requirements.
- Quality Management
- Manage the Plant Quality Department.
- Lead implementation and verification of the appropriate Quality Management Systems throughout the operation, providing quality leadership and support in the development and launch of new products, processes, including leading Plant APQP activity and Customer and Supplier PPAP.
- Oversee and/or may lead the auditing of internal Quality Systems and industry quality system requirements (i.e. IATF 16949, VDA, ISO 9001, etc.).
- Quality Metrics and Analysis
- Monitor production part approval (PPAP) documentation to assure that customers' requirements are met in new or modified products and processes.
- Analyze organizational Quality Metrics and perform managerial reviews to evaluate results and recommend action plans to close gaps at an operational level.
- Quality Documentation and Validation
- Approval for process (pre-production/production) related quality documentation which includes the Control Plan, Standard Work Instructions, permit for deviation.
- Validate Quality Lab and verification of associated product and/or evaluation requirements.
- Process Control and Improvement
- Confirm the completion of daily production line startup verification (includes Poka Yoke's).
- Own the initiation and authorization of product containment activity.
- Measurement Systems Analysis verification for measurement tools and devices used within the production process or its support.
- Authority and Accountability
- Have the authority and the responsibility to stop any process or product delivery in case of a non-conformance of customer expectations, safety, or environmental risks.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in engineering or technical field from an accredited institution.
- A minimum of 6 years of experience in a quality function in a manufacturing environment in the automotive sector.
- At least 2 years of experience in a leadership or managerial role in a quality department.
- Fluency in English.
