Research Assistant in Biosensors for Bioengineering Research Group

Job Opportunity: The Institute For Bioengineering Of Catalonia (Ibec) is seeking a highly skilled Research Assistant to join our Biosensors for Bioengineering Research Group. As an Early Stage Researcher, you will play a crucial role in the development of 3D skeletal muscle tissue integrated within microfluidic organ-on-chip devices.
About the Project: The MORFEO project aims to develop Muscle-on-chip devices to model DMD and Col6-related myopathies. This project is a collaborative effort between researchers and engineers to create innovative solutions for muscular dystrophy research.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and characterize 3D tissue co-cultures of skeletal muscle tissues from patient-derived cells.
- Design and fabricate microfluidic devices.
- Integrate the platform to drug testing assays.
Requirements:
- Essential:
- Degree in any field in Biomedical Engineering or similar.
- Experience in cell culture and Molecular Biology.
- Desirable:
- Experience in microfabrication techniques.
- Experience in microphysiological systems and tissue engineering.
