Position Overview
We are seeking an R3 researcher in the Bioengineering sector, specifically focusing on Biosensors and Biomedical Devices Design. The ideal candidate will hold a PhD in Bioengineering or related fields, including but not limited to Biomedical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Telecommunications Engineering, and Mechanical Engineering. Responsibilities include:
- Instructing courses related to the biological aspects of bioengineering, covering areas such as Biomedical Instrumentation, Electronics, Signals and Systems Theory, Computing, Robotics, Bionics, Prosthetics, and Biomedical Devices.
- Conducting research in bioengineering, particularly in:
- Biomedical Devices for Diagnosis and Treatment
- Biosensor Development
- Bioinstrumentation
- Microfluidics and Organ-on-Chip Technologies
- Managing undergraduate teaching responsibilities.
Key Responsibilities
- Contributing to a research group specializing in Bioengineering – Biosensors and Biomedical Devices Design.
- Delivering high-quality instruction in specialized subjects.
- Demonstrating the ability to write grant proposals, secure funding, and lead research projects as a principal investigator.
Selection Process
UIC Barcelona has been recognized with an Excellence Award for Research in Human Resources by EURAXESS, ensuring that candidate selection is based solely on merit. The selection process includes:
- An independent panel of experts evaluating all applications and determining candidates for the next stage. All panel members are external to UIC Barcelona.
- A public oral presentation by shortlisted candidates detailing their career in research, management, and teaching, followed by a question-and-answer session with the examination panel.
