Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Strategic Donor Engagement Manager to join our team at Berklee College of Music. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and implementing strategic plans to engage and steward donors, ensuring a positive and impactful experience for our supporters.

Key Responsibilities
  • Donor Engagement
    • Develop and implement strategic plans to engage and steward donors, including the creation of personalized communication plans and the coordination of donor events.
    • Build and maintain strong relationships with donors, including regular communication and updates on the impact of their gifts.
  • Stewardship and Recognition
    • Develop and implement stewardship plans to recognize and thank donors for their support, including the creation of personalized recognition materials and the coordination of donor recognition events.
    • Collaborate with the development team to identify and pursue new stewardship opportunities and recognition strategies.
  • Donor Research and Analysis
    • Conduct research and analysis to identify trends and opportunities for donor engagement and stewardship.
    • Develop and maintain accurate and up-to-date donor records and databases.
  • Collaboration and Communication
    • Collaborate with the development team, including the Director of Development and the Senior Development Officer, to ensure a cohesive and effective donor engagement and stewardship strategy.
    • Communicate regularly with donors, including regular updates and reports on the impact of their gifts.
Requirements
  • Education and Experience
    • Bachelor's degree required; Master's degree preferred.
    • Minimum of 2 years of experience in donor relations and stewardship, preferably in a higher education or non-profit setting.
  • Skills and Abilities
    • Exceptional writing, communication, and relationship-building skills.
    • Ability to develop and implement strategic plans and to analyze data and trends.
    • Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize multiple tasks and deadlines.
    • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a high level of discretion and confidentiality.
