Senior Sales Specialist in High Voltage Substations
Position Overview
We are on the lookout for a dynamic and experienced Sales Specialist focused on high voltage substations.
The primary goal of this role is to enhance the opportunity pipeline and secure orders in both emerging and established markets for substations, along with the diverse solutions offered by Siemens Energy to aid our clients in their energy transition journey.
Collaborating with the relevant internal teams at Siemens Energy, you will guide the development of proposals for customers' high voltage connections, ensuring that communications are effective and that the proposals align with their requirements while maintaining profitable margins.
Following the completion of technical clarifications regarding the solutions, you will take charge of leading the commercial proposal and negotiations with clients in accordance with Siemens Energy's internal protocols.
As a Field Sales Specialist, you will play a crucial role in managing relationships with our clients, which include major utilities, independent power producers, industries, and infrastructure firms.
Key Responsibilities
- Build and sustain partnerships with key clients.
- Oversee the entire sales process for project opportunities, from Lead Management to Project Handover, ensuring coordination with all involved parties to deliver technically sound and commercially viable proposals.
- Analyze customer needs and requirements to formulate effective strategies that provide customized solutions.
- Conduct thorough market research and competitive analysis to create innovative and differentiated strategies to meet business goals.
- Define Bid/Win Strategies and develop technical solutions tailored to customer specifications.
- Manage project bid clarifications and negotiations with clients, thoroughly understanding their objectives, scope, timelines, negotiation points, and evaluation criteria.
- Ensure compliance with Siemens Energy's sales and tendering processes, maintaining ethical standards throughout.
- Collaborate effectively with partners, including customers, suppliers, managers, and colleagues, utilizing strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Coordinate with engineering, manufacturing, service, and marketing teams to address configuration, scope, and technical changes during the quoting phase.
Qualifications
- A degree or equivalent qualification in Engineering or a related technical discipline.
- Proven knowledge and experience in the grid technology sector.
- Over 5 years of experience in high voltage substation solutions and systems, with a solid understanding of customer business drivers and process requirements. Project management experience is a plus.
- Strong technical expertise in high voltage substations and their components.
- Willingness to travel as necessary and engage in regular client visits.
- Proficient communication skills in English and Spanish , capable of fluent interaction and collaboration with both internal and external stakeholders, leading cross-functional teams effectively.
- Exceptional negotiation abilities.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and projects under tight deadlines while effectively handling customer demands.
- Disciplined in planning, organizing, and structuring resources, with strong analytical and problem-solving skills , strategic thinking, and an entrepreneurial mindset.
- A collaborative team player, capable of engaging with various levels of customers, peers, and team members.
- Ability to work accurately and systematically.
- Strong aptitude for teamwork across diverse teams and countries, fostering a positive team environment and motivating others towards shared and individual goals.
- Capacity to be self-sufficient (able to work independently) and quickly adapt to new concepts.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office suite, CRM tools, and sales software.
- Knowledge of EHS and a commitment to quality.
