Senior Software Engineer - Advertising Solutions
The Knot Worldwide is on the lookout for a skilled and motivated Senior Software Engineer to enhance our Advertising Solutions and Content Management team.
ABOUT THE ROLE:
At The Knot Worldwide, we are dedicated to making a meaningful impact. Our brands, including The Knot, WeddingWire, and Bodas, serve as essential resources for individuals planning significant life events across the globe. As a member of our dynamic team, you will contribute to our mission of facilitating memorable celebrations.
In this role, you will be responsible for maintaining and improving our systems that deliver content-driven web pages. Your efforts will ensure that our users receive relevant information throughout their planning journey, from venue selection to last-minute advice.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Develop robust, maintainable full-stack code that adheres to mobile design standards while reviewing and providing constructive feedback on code from peers.
- Collaborate with design teams using Figma to ensure that layouts are practical and user-friendly across various devices.
- Write and refine HTML/CSS/JavaScript to enhance our public-facing web pages.
- Update backend systems as required to evolve our content ecosystem in alignment with product demands.
- Engage in Agile development practices to architect, build, and deploy new features.
- Work closely with product, design, and marketing teams to align engineering initiatives with organizational objectives.
- Offer technical insights and guidance to fellow engineers while reviewing their code.
- Collaborate effectively with remote and international teams.
REQUIRED SKILLS & EXPERIENCE:
- A minimum of 5 years of experience in a full-stack development role, collaborating closely with design, product, and quality assurance teams.
- Proven ability to work alongside engineers utilizing diverse technical stacks and backends.
- Familiarity with various technology stacks, including Ruby on Rails, React, Webpack, Next.js, Node.js, and Docker.
- Experience in a publishing environment that frequently updates content and collaborates with editorial teams.
- General understanding of advertising technology systems and their performance on web platforms.
- Strong grasp of web performance, search engine optimization, and analytics.
- Comfortable with Agile methodologies and committed to producing high-quality software.
- Excellent communication skills, with a passion for knowledge sharing and a willingness to learn from others. Capable of articulating complex issues to both technical and non-technical audiences.
