Job Summary
The Chemical Engineer is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Senior Process Engineer to lead our Basic Design projects for international clients across the energy transition markets. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for managing process engineering design activities, ensuring compliance with client and company standards, and delivering high-quality results.
Key Responsibilities
- Act as process project manager, reporting to the project manager, and ensure that process engineering design activities are executed according to schedule and budget.
- Be accountable for the calculations, data sheets, narrative documents, and engineering diagrams prepared for the project by the team members.
- Lead, coordinate, and motivate teams, plan work, and provide clear technical guidance to ensure the delivery of challenging project and client targets.
- Provide technical expertise and support to the project manager on business activities as required.
- Mentor, coach, and develop junior staff, keeping up-to-date with the latest technical developments in your field of expertise.
- Review and audit process engineering activity on projects and support internal development and continuous improvement activities as required.
- Ensure compliance with WOOD and client health, safety, environmental, and quality procedures, achieving a high standard of safety in all associated work.
Requirements
- Chemical Engineering degree.
- 5-15 years of proven experience in process design engineering, working at different stages of a project, including Basic Engineering, FEED, and EPC.
- Demonstrable experience in Oil & Gas projects, including Crude and Vacuum distillation, Delayed Coker, Hydroprocessing, FCC, Sulphur block, Utilities & Offsites, etc.
- Experience in Energy Transition technologies, such as Green Hydrogen, Green Ammonia, Green Methanol, Bio-refineries, co-processing of vegetable oils, and SAF, will be positively valued.
- Experience acting as Owner's engineering (PMC) will be highly valued.
- Customer focus and ability to respond to customer needs while achieving project and corporate objectives.
- Leading skills and proficiency in technical software, such as Aspen Hysys, Aspen Flare System Analyser, PRO-II, Promax, and AFT Impulse.
- Excellent command of Spanish and English languages.
- Holding a valid permit to live and work in Spain is required.
