Position Overview

We are in search of a seasoned and proactive Legal Counsel specializing in contract management to join our Global Legal & Compliance Team. This role offers the opportunity to shape our commercial contracting practices, develop agreement templates and playbooks, manage policies, and enhance our contract management processes, tools, and systems. You will play a crucial role in negotiating significant commercial contracts.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist business and procurement functions by drafting, reviewing, and negotiating a variety of commercial contracts, including services agreements, independent contractor engagements, IT agreements, and confidentiality agreements.
  • Oversee global contract templates, enhancing and developing them in collaboration with colleagues in the Legal & Compliance department.
  • Address contract-related issues in partnership with business stakeholders and other legal counsels, ensuring effective communication and presentation of contract information.
  • Establish and ensure adherence to contract guidelines, policies, and standard operating procedures.
  • Create and refine negotiation playbooks and deliver training sessions to stakeholders.
  • Develop a comprehensive training program for stakeholders on contract matters and negotiation strategies, facilitating ongoing internal training.
  • Enhance processes to mitigate contractual risks, improve contract quality, and boost efficiency.
  • Act as the primary legal contact for managing contract repositories and tools, collaborating with business users to monitor usage and implement improvements.
  • Stay informed about global developments in contract law and other relevant topics impacting contract management operations.

Qualifications

  • Law degree (Licentiate, Bachelor of Laws, JD, or equivalent) from an accredited institution.
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in commercial contracts within a contract management context, preferably in the pharmaceutical or consumer health sectors.
  • Proficient in drafting and negotiating commercial contracts in English.
  • Expertise in creating efficient contract templates and playbooks.
  • Hands-on experience with contract management systems and tools.
  • Proven track record in streamlining processes and implementing effective systems.
  • Experience in a global corporate environment is preferred.
  • Strong presentation skills for delivering training to internal stakeholders.
  • Self-motivated and adaptable in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent communication skills.
