Position Overview:
We are seeking a seasoned and proactive Legal Counsel with expertise in contract management to join our Global Legal & Compliance Team. This role offers the opportunity to shape our commercial contracting practices, develop agreement templates and playbooks, manage policies, and enhance our contract management processes, tools, and systems. You will play a crucial role in negotiating significant commercial contracts.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist business and procurement functions by drafting, reviewing, and negotiating a variety of commercial contracts, including services agreements, IT agreements, SaaS contracts, and data processing agreements.
- Oversee the global management of contract templates, enhancing and developing them in collaboration with colleagues in the Legal & Compliance department.
- Address and investigate contract-related issues in partnership with business stakeholders and other legal counsels, effectively communicating contract information to relevant parties.
- Prepare and ensure adherence to contract guidelines, policies, and standard operating procedures.
- Create and refine negotiation playbooks for contracts and provide training to stakeholders on these materials.
- Design a training program to educate stakeholders on contract matters, negotiation strategies, and compliance processes, fostering greater autonomy within procurement and business teams.
- Enhance processes to mitigate contractual risks, improve contract quality, and boost efficiency.
- Act as the legal point of contact for the development and management of Galderma's contract repositories and management tools, ensuring effective usage and addressing any issues.
- Stay informed about global developments in contract law and other relevant topics impacting Galderma's contract management operations.
- Juris Doctor (JD), Licentiate, or Bachelor of Laws from an accredited institution.
- A minimum of 5 years of experience in commercial contract management, preferably within the pharmaceutical or consumer health sectors.
- Proficient in drafting and negotiating commercial contracts in English.
- Expertise in creating efficient contract templates, playbooks, and standard documents.
- Hands-on experience with contract management systems and tools.
- Proven track record in streamlining processes and implementing effective systems.
- Experience in a global corporate environment is preferred.
- Strong presentation skills for delivering training to internal stakeholders.
- Self-motivated and adaptable in a fast-paced environment, capable of adjusting priorities as needed.
- Excellent communication skills.
