About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Commercial Legal Counsel to join our team in Barcelona, Spain. As a key member of our Global Legal Department, you will be responsible for providing legal support and management advice to our dynamic and fast-paced video game and software development company.

Key Responsibilities
  • Partner with our business teams to manage, negotiate, and execute commercial and corporate agreements, compliance, and risk management related matters and projects.
  • Proactively manage the day-to-day legal operational needs of our games and the Barcelona entity, providing support for other Western entities as needed.
  • Act as a subject matter expert, providing operational and strategic counsel on risk and mitigation strategies to ensure agreements and execution are consistent with regulations and internal corporate policies.
Requirements
  • Excellent command of English and Mandarin (fluency).
  • 5-8 years of experience in a comparable commercial legal function, preferably in gaming, media, or the tech industry.
  • Working experience in a Chinese company.
  • A Master's Law degree from a reputable university in Europe, UK, or the US.
  • Excellent service-oriented and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build effective working relationships with people from diverse cultures and backgrounds.
  • Ability to simplify complexity, manage complex projects, and negotiate effectively, keeping all stakeholders informed and committed.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, sound judgment, and the ability to collaborate effectively in virtual and hybrid teams.
  • Demonstrated ability to quickly research and evaluate novel legal issues, with a focus on practical solutions and an understanding of legal risks.
  • Interest and familiarity with legal issues facing technology and gaming companies.
