We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Junior Legal Counsel - Contract Specialist to join our Legal Team in Barcelona. As a key member of our team, you will play a crucial role in shaping the way we operate around commercial contracting, building agreement templates, and improving our contract management processes.
Key Responsibilities- Drafting and Negotiating Contracts: You will be responsible for drafting, reviewing, and negotiating a diverse array of contracts, including NDAs, supplier service agreements, and IT agreements, both domestically and globally.
- Identifying Legal Risks: You will identify legal risks associated with contracts and propose effective strategies for risk mitigation.
- Providing Legal Guidance: You will collaborate with internal teams to provide clear and pragmatic legal guidance throughout the contract negotiation process, contributing to informed decision-making.
- Conducting Legal Research: You will conduct legal research on specific issues and provide clear and concise analyses to support decision-making.
- Communicating with External Parties: You will communicate with external parties, including suppliers and partners, to negotiate contracts and contribute to the successful resolution of contractual matters.
- Staying Up-to-Date with Regulations: You will stay abreast of relevant laws and regulations impacting the travel and technology industries.
- Maintaining Contract Repositories: You will work with our Procurement Team to maintain an organized and accessible repository of contracts and related documentation.
- Developing Internal Processes: You will participate in the creation, development, and enhancement of internal contractual processes.
- Contributing to Knowledge Database: You will contribute to the knowledge database for the contracts team.
- Preparing Contract Templates: You will prepare and review contract templates, the contract playbook, and other toolkits, communications, and training materials as needed.
- Exploring Legal Tech: You will explore the integration of legal tech tools, AI, and other innovative techniques to optimize the workflow and enhance the quality of work outcomes within the contract team.
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Law from an accredited law school.
- Experience: 3 years of combined experience working as a legal counsel in a law firm or corporate legal department.
- Language Skills: Full professional competency in English and Spanish. French and Portuguese would be a plus.
- Skills: Experience working with commercial contracts, skilled at drafting and negotiating commercial contracts in English, self-starter, self-motivated, with a passion to learn and grow, taking the initiative to handle complex challenges and prioritizing multiple ongoing projects.
- Soft Skills: Ability to work independently and as part of a team, collaborating with key stakeholders within the legal team and outside of it, ability to identify legal risks and potential liabilities while remaining business-oriented, excellent communication skills, and adaptability to a fast-paced and multicultural environment.
