Job Title: Senior Legal Counsel

About the Role

This position's primary responsibility is to provide legal support to the business in EMEA. Reporting to the Legal Director, EMEA, the successful candidate will provide responsive legal advice and support for transactional work, working individually and collaboratively with colleagues, other functional colleagues, and external counsel at a regional level.

Key Responsibilities
  • Autonomously complete and lead routine legal work, including contract review, commercial and corporate law consults, and negotiation and assistance in matters related to EMEA strategies, transactions, and operations.
  • Independently advise the business on the legal and other risks arising out of policy decisions and current organization practices.
  • Support the execution of EMEA strategies, with a keen understanding of the business' priorities.
  • Be responsible for the corporate housekeeping of all legal entities handled in EMEA.
  • Support and coordinate the execution of any corporate restructuring in EMEA.
Requirements

The ideal candidate must have a practical, business-oriented approach to identifying and effectively managing risks and solving business/legal problems. They must be a strategic partner to business clients with an ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment. CHS is a company that appreciates that legal complexity and risk require skilled legal counsel. The candidate must also have excellent communication and collaboration skills, and be able to perform most work, and especially low and medium complexity work, autonomously and independently.

They must be able to manage multiple, changing priorities efficiently, using discretion and judgment, as well as support the junior member of the EMEA Legal team in the development of their tasks.

They will be part of a larger Legal, Governance, Compliance & Audit organization that promotes and supports business being done within a culture of ethics and compliance.
