Vall d'Hebron Institute of Research (VHIR) is a leading public sector institution dedicated to promoting and developing biomedical research, innovation, and teaching. We are seeking a highly skilled Occupational Health and Safety Specialist to join our team and contribute to ensuring a safe and healthy work environment for our staff.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and implement preventive activities to protect workers' health and safety in biomedical research laboratories.
- Conduct risk assessments and periodic control of working conditions to identify areas for improvement and propose preventive measures.
- Support the development, update, and implementation of self-protection plans for VHIR and VHIO centers, in accordance with current regulations.
- Collaborate in the planning and realization of drills and report on risks detected in terms of safety, hygiene, ergonomics, and psychosociology.
- Advise on training and information plans for staff, including the detection of needs and the establishment of evaluation systems and monitoring measures.
- Review investigations of work accidents to objectify their causes and propose corrective measures to avoid repetition.
- Carry out general training and information tasks at all levels related to occupational risk prevention.
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent in sciences (chemistry) or biosciences (biology, microbiology).
- Higher education in Occupational Risk Prevention (ORP), occupational safety specialties, industrial hygiene, and ergonomics.
- Minimum experience of 2 years in a similar position within biomedical research laboratories.
- Knowledge of ORP and environmental management systems.
