About the Role

The Mandarin Oriental Hotel Group Limited is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Director of Group Sales to join our team. As a key member of our sales team, you will be responsible for overseeing the production of group business for our hotel, achieving annual budgeted revenues, and leading the managed group business sales efforts.

Key Responsibilities
  • Proactively manage, qualify, solicit, and book group blocks to achieve revenue targets.
  • Effectively manage a portfolio of key accounts through planned sales activities, building and maintaining strong relationships with key stakeholders, guests, and partners.
  • Build, motivate, and manage an effective and successful group sales team.
  • Monitor actual sales and revenues to determine variance, assess goal accomplishments, and adjust strategies accordingly.
  • Ensure accuracy for forecasting of revenues, monthly reports, and sales budget.
Requirements
  • At least 1-3 years of experience as a leader in group sales.
  • Previous Five Star/Luxury Hotel Sales Experience is essential.
  • Bachelor's degree preferred or equivalent work experience.
  • Established network of connections.
  • Proficient with Salesforce and previous working knowledge of PMS and Delphi systems.
  • Maintain a professional appearance and conduct personal behavior in a mature professional manner when representing the hotel or company.
  • Excellent organizational skills and ability to work in a dynamic and fast-changing environment.
  • Excellent communication skills with fluency in English and Spanish (both verbal and written).
  • Proven negotiation skills required; must be able to persuade and influence key decision makers in the marketplace.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule to accommodate business goals and directives.
