The Team:
We are on the lookout for a proactive and seasoned Senior Manager with expertise in German tax compliance and reporting to bolster our Tax division.
The Role:
This position necessitates a comprehensive grasp of German tax legislation, regulations, and reporting obligations, complemented by a solid understanding of German GAAP principles. Experience with IFRS reporting and the tax ramifications on financial statements is advantageous. The ideal candidate will possess a successful history in orchestrating tax compliance strategies and delivering tax counsel within a multinational framework.
Key Responsibilities:
- Direct and manage all facets of German tax compliance, including corporate income tax, trade tax, and various indirect taxes.
- Supervise the administration and enhancement of diverse R&D incentive initiatives, including FZUL grants for tax purposes.
- Guarantee the punctual and precise preparation and submission of tax returns in alignment with German tax regulations and timelines.
- Stay abreast of modifications in tax laws and regulations to ensure continuous compliance and inform internal stakeholders as necessary.
- Create and uphold adequate documentation to substantiate tax filing positions.
- Oversee the preparation and evaluation of tax-related contributions to German GAAP and IFRS financial statements, encompassing tax provisions and associated disclosures.
- Assess and analyze deferred tax assets and liabilities, ensuring conformity with requisite standards and corporate policies.
- Offer insights on intricate accounting matters related to tax provisions and collaborate with finance teams on financial reporting.
- Assist in liaising with tax authorities regarding audits and notifications as required.
- Provide strategic tax advice and direction to senior management on tax planning endeavors, including restructuring, transfer pricing, mergers, and acquisitions as needed.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Taxation, or a related discipline; a Master's degree is preferred.
- CPA, Steuerberater, or equivalent professional certification in Germany is a plus.
- Extensive experience (6+ years) in tax compliance and provision management, ideally within a multinational corporation or professional services firm.
- Profound knowledge of German tax laws, regulations, and accounting standards (HGB).
- Strong analytical capabilities and meticulous attention to detail, with the ability to interpret complex tax and accounting challenges.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the capacity to engage effectively with stakeholders at all levels.
- Proficiency in German is an advantage.
