R&D Engineer for Power Transformers: Innovate and Lead

About the Role
We are seeking a highly skilled R&D Engineer to join our team at Hitachi Vantara Corporation. As a key member of our Technology Center, you will play a crucial role in driving innovation and leading projects related to power transformers.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and propose new technologies, products, and processes for power transformers, focusing on core and shell type transformers.
- Lead and manage R&D projects, ensuring timely, budget-friendly, and high-quality execution in line with Hitachi Vantara Corporation's internal standards and processes.
- Maintain and develop technical standards and design tools for transformers, ensuring seamless integration with existing systems.
- Transfer knowledge and findings through reports, specifications, and educational programs, promoting knowledge sharing and collaboration.
- Assess production processes, identifying areas for improvement and implementing solutions to enhance efficiency and quality.
- Support factories in troubleshooting and resolving issues related to power transformers.
- Develop and expand relationships with stakeholders, internal functions, and external parties, including customers and universities, to foster partnerships and collaborations.
- Embody Hitachi Vantara Corporation's core values of safety and integrity, prioritizing responsibility, colleague care, and business excellence.
Requirements
- Master's or Ph.D. in Mechanical, Electrical, or Industrial Engineering.
- At least 3 years of experience in R&D projects, engineering, or university research.
- Proficiency in CAD modeling software (CREO, Solidworks, Solidedge) and experience with advanced numerical simulations (e.g., fluid dynamics, mechanical simulations).
- Knowledge of 3D printing techniques and commercial simulation tools (e.g., Ansys, Fluent, CREO).
- Excellent teamwork and interpersonal skills, with a structured, problem-solving approach and strong communication skills.
- Fluent spoken and written English and Spanish.
