About the Role
Hitachi Energy is seeking a highly skilled Mechanical Engineer to join our R&D team in Córdoba, Argentina. As a key member of our Technology Center, you will be responsible for driving innovation and excellence in the development of new technologies, products, and processes for power transformers.
Your Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement new technologies, products, and processes for power transformers, collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure successful project delivery.
- Lead and manage R&D projects, ensuring timely, budget-friendly, and high-quality outcomes that meet Hitachi Energy's internal standards and processes.
- Maintain and develop technical standards and design tools for power transformers, ensuring consistency and excellence in our products.
- Transfer knowledge and findings through reports, specifications, and educational programs, promoting a culture of innovation and knowledge sharing.
- Assess production processes, identifying areas for improvement and implementing solutions to enhance efficiency and quality.
- Support factories in troubleshooting and resolving technical issues related to power transformers.
- Develop and maintain relationships with stakeholders, internal functions, and external partners, including customers and universities, to drive innovation and growth.
- Embody Hitachi Energy's core values of safety and integrity, demonstrating responsibility, care for colleagues, and a commitment to excellence.
Your Background and Skills
- We are looking for a Mechanical Engineer with a Master's or Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering, with a minimum of 3 years of experience in R&D projects, engineering, or university research.
- Proficiency in CAD modeling software (CATIA, CREO, Solidworks, Solidedge) and experience with advanced numerical simulations (e.g., mechanical simulations) and commercial simulation tools (e.g., Ansys, Comsol, Catia).
- Excellent teamwork and interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate effectively in English and Spanish.
- A structured, problem-solving approach, with a solutions-oriented mindset and a spirit of innovation and out-of-the-box thinking.
