We are seeking a highly skilled R&D Engineer to join our team at Hitachi Energy Spain, S.A.U. as a member of the Technology Center South Europe. As a key contributor to the global Technology organization of Business Unit Transformer, you will play a crucial role in driving technological advancements and innovation in power transformers.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and Implement New Technologies: Propose and develop new technologies, products, and processes for both core and shell type transformers, ensuring alignment with Hitachi Energy's internal standards and processes.
- Lead R&D Projects: Manage R&D projects self-driven on time, on budget, and with the required quality, leveraging your expertise in simulation types, including thermal and mechanical simulations.
- Maintain Technical Standards: Develop and maintain existing technical standards and design tools for transformers, ensuring seamless integration with Hitachi Energy's global operations.
- Knowledge Transfer and Collaboration: Transfer your knowledge and findings by elaborating reports, specifications, and participating in educational programs, fostering collaboration with stakeholders, internal functions, and external parties.
- Process Improvement and Support: Assess production processes, identify gaps and areas of improvement, and provide support to factories in troubleshooting and resolving domain-specific issues.
- Relationship Building and Partnerships: Develop and expand relationships with stakeholders, internal functions, Corporate Research Centers, and external relevant parties, including customers and universities, to explore potential partnerships and collaborations.
- Adherence to Core Values: Embody Hitachi Energy's core values of safety and integrity, taking responsibility for your actions and promoting a culture of safety and respect within the team.
- Education: Master's or Ph.D. in Mechanical, Electrical, or Industrial Engineering.
- Experience: More than 3 years of experience in R&D projects, engineering, or university research, with a strong background in CAD modeling software (CREO, Solidworks, Solidedge) and advanced numerical simulations (e.g., Ansys, Fluent, CREO).
- Skills: Excellent teamwork and interpersonal skills, a structured problem-solving approach, strong communication skills, and a spirit of innovation and out-of-the-box thinking.
- Language: Fluent spoken and written English and Spanish.
