**Overview**

A leading hedge fund, Balyasny Asset Management L.P., is seeking an Associate Intern to join its Fundamental L/S Equity Team in Madrid. This team specializes in Utilities & MLPs and is responsible for conducting research, company due diligence, and data-driven idea generation.

Responsibilities

The intern will report to a Fundamental L/S Equity Portfolio Manager and Senior Analyst and will be primarily responsible for:

  • Conducting in-depth fundamental research, primary research, and engaging in other data collection efforts
  • Building and maintaining detailed company financial models
  • Creating valuation analyses and writing company and industry reports
  • Taking on ad-hoc industry-related projects

Requirements and Qualifications

To be considered for this role, candidates must:

  • Be pursuing a bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Business Administration, Mathematics, or a related field
  • Have a strong understanding of financial markets and a passion for L/S Equity Investing
  • Be able to communicate effectively and have excellent reading comprehension and writing skills
  • Have strong modeling and analytical skills, with the ability to build DCF models
  • Be an active member in a university finance or investment club

Working Arrangements

The intern will work 40 hours per week in the Fall and may have the opportunity to extend their internship for up to 6 months. The role is based in Madrid, Spain, and requires in-person attendance.
