Job Description Summary

The Technical Sales Manager will play a pivotal role in driving business growth and customer satisfaction in the EMEA region. This role will work closely with cross-functional teams to penetrate key customers, build on Elementis' brand image, and drive new sales opportunities and long-term success.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver and lead technical expertise in the EMEA region, driving business objectives and fast-tracking the creation of new business opportunities across all tiers.
  • Lead customer projects by collaborating with technology, marketing, and sales teams, resolving and troubleshooting technical issues related to product formulation and manufacturing.
  • Develop and enhance technical relationships with current and new customers, understanding their strategic direction and introducing the Elementis value proposition to better support their plans.
  • Drive and identify product innovation, ensuring market needs, customer expectations, and regulatory standards in collaboration with R&D and marketing teams.
  • Design and develop comprehensive training programs for internal teams and customers, ensuring clear communication of Elementis' products value proposition.
  • Identify and line-up new business opportunities in line with the business strategy, aligning internal technical expertise with customer needs to drive new project development and support the execution of sales and marketing initiatives.

Requirements

  • Technical expertise: In-depth knowledge of product formulation in the personal care sector, understanding of industry-specific regulatory requirements and compliance standards.
  • Leadership: Ability to influence and guide cross-functional teams, strategic thinking and vision to align technical efforts with company goals, mentorship capabilities to support the development of team members.
  • Collaboration and teamwork: Ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams, including R&D, marketing, and sales, collaborative approach to problem-solving and project execution.
  • Customer focus: Ability to provide technical support and resolve customer issues, commitment to ensuring customer satisfaction through high-quality products and services.
  • Project management: Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, strong organizational and time management skills, experience in project planning and execution from concept to completion.
  • Innovation and continuous improvement: Commitment to continuous improvement and staying updated on industry trends and emerging technologies.
  • Business acumen: Understanding of the commercial aspects of product development, ability to align technical initiatives with business objectives, strategic mindset to contribute to the company's overall success.

Requirements

  • In-depth knowledge of formulation chemistry in the personal care industry.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a cross-functional environment.
  • Detail-oriented with a commitment to quality and continuous improvement.

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor's Degree or Master's degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Cosmetic Science, or related field.
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in the personal care industry.

Language Skills

  • Fluent in English.
  • Any other European language is a plus, i.e., French, Spanish, German, or Italian.

Working Arrangements

  • Home office based.
  • Traveling required: up to 50%.
