About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Research Engineer to join our team at the Barcelona Supercomputing Center (BSC). As a Research Engineer, you will be responsible for developing and implementing natural language processing (NLP) and artificial intelligence (AI) solutions for biomedical and clinical data.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and develop annotation schemes, corpora, and labeled datasets for training and evaluation of supervised AI and NLP techniques.
  • Define robust evaluation scenarios for AI model evaluation, covering standard quantitative and qualitative metrics and bias mitigation.
  • Develop multilingual information extraction models in the biomedical field, including mention extraction and linking of terms to controlled terminologies.
  • Pre-train cross-lingual large language models for healthcare.
  • Coordinate technical contributions from different partners in technological projects.
  • Document and report technical findings and project progress in both English and Spanish.
Requirements
  • Master's degree in Computational Linguistics or a related field.
  • Demonstrated experience in NLP technologies, including publication track records or projects in the field of Deep Learning/NLP.
