Job Title: Research Engineer Clinical LLMs

Barcelona Supercomputing Center (BSC) is seeking a highly skilled Research Engineer Clinical LLMs to join our team. As a key member of our Natural Language Processing for Biomedical Information Analysis (NLP4BIA) group, you will be responsible for developing and implementing natural language processing and advanced AI solutions for biomedical and clinical data.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Design and develop annotation schemes, corpora, and labeled datasets for training and evaluation of supervised AI and NLP techniques.
  • Define robust evaluation scenarios for AI model evaluation, covering standard quantitative and qualitative evaluation metrics and bias mitigation.
  • Develop multilingual information extraction models in the biomedical field, including mention extraction and linking of terms to controlled terminologies.
  • Pre-train cross-lingual large language models for healthcare.
  • Coordinate technical contributions from different partners in technological projects.
  • Create technical reports and project documentation in English and Spanish.
  • Collaborate in drafting technical research proposals and writing scientific papers.
Requirements:
  • Master's degree in Computational Linguistics or a related field.
  • Demonstrated experience in Natural Language Processing technologies, including publication track records or projects in the field of Deep Learning/NLP.
  • Solid knowledge of information extraction techniques, including Named Entity Recognition (NER) or Entity Linking.
  • Practical experience with deep learning libraries, such as Pytorch, TensorFlow, Spacy, or Transformers.
  • Advanced programming skills in Python.
  • Fluency in English is essential, with proficiency in Spanish and other European languages advantageous.
