About the Job

We are seeking a highly skilled Research Engineer to join our team at the Barcelona Supercomputing Center (BSC). As a Research Engineer, you will be responsible for developing and implementing natural language processing (NLP) and artificial intelligence (AI) solutions for biomedical and clinical data.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and develop annotation schemes for corpus construction and evaluation of supervised AI and NLP techniques.
  • Develop and implement multilingual information extraction models in the biomedical field, including mention extraction and linking of terms to controlled terminologies.
  • Pre-train cross-lingual large language models for healthcare and evaluate their performance using robust evaluation scenarios.
  • Coordinate technical contributions from different partners in technological projects and create technical reports and project documentation in English and Spanish.
  • Collaborate in drafting technical research proposals and writing scientific papers.
Requirements
  • Master's degree in Computational Linguistics or a related field.
  • Demonstrated experience in NLP technologies, including publication track records or projects in the field of Deep Learning/NLP.
