Position Overview
The SAP Human Capital Management Specialist plays a crucial role within the Application Management Services (AMS) team, reporting directly to the AMS Cluster Lead. This position is dedicated to providing exceptional support to our clients by:
- Delivering expert application support consultancy through strategic advice, guidance, and relevant technical interventions.
- Managing support tickets following comprehensive functional analysis and receiving coaching on technical implementation.
- Creating maintainable, high-quality code and customizations in alignment with Alight's best practices.
- Implementing HR Service Packs (HRSP).
- Conducting necessary system tests using either provided or self-generated test data to ensure that applications and developments adhere to specified requirements.
- Providing thorough documentation (both technical and functional) for issues addressed.
- Prioritizing personal daily tasks and assigned tickets, ensuring deadlines are consistently met while regularly updating the AMS Cluster Lead on progress.
- Maintaining effective communication channels with internal and external stakeholders, clearly conveying the status, resolution, and root cause of issues.
- Understanding the overarching processes in Human Resources and the architecture of SAP HR.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience in SAP HCM.
- Extensive skills in SAP HCM & Payroll configuration.
- Hands-on experience with German Payroll, including schemas, PCRs, wage type creation, and basic pay configuration.
- A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree with a focus on Business or Technical fields, or equivalent experience.
- A strong desire to learn new technologies rapidly.
- A commitment to delivering high-quality support in Human Resources.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks in a dynamic, fast-paced environment while consistently meeting quality standards.
- A service-oriented mindset with a strong client focus and accountability.
- Dedication to the customer, team, and project goals.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English; proficiency in German is advantageous.
- Ability to handle confidential information with discretion.

Main Responsibilities:
- Designing and delivering high-quality solutions through system configuration that aligns with business requirements.
- Configuring HCM modules of HR, particularly Payroll (evaluations & schemas).
- Acting as the Single Point of Contact (SPOC) for one or more accounts, coordinating tasks and providing technical support to fellow consultants.
- Leading HR Services for SAP Payroll Management, focusing on development, defect identification, and resolution.
- Analyzing payroll and time schemas to diagnose and resolve discrepancies.
- Addressing complex issues related to overtime, social security calculations, legal reporting, allowances, sickness, taxes, and other specific configurations in German payroll.
- Participating in SAP HR projects as an integral member of a cross-functional team to enhance HR Services delivery.
- Ensuring the integrity of time and attendance data.
- Troubleshooting and resolving HCM & Payroll issues for both internal and external clients, while maintaining accurate ticket logging.
