Amazon Key is our proprietary technology designed to enhance building access, currently operational in the US with plans for international expansion. We are looking for a dynamic and skilled engineer who is enthusiastic about both technological and business advancements.

As part of a diverse team comprising hardware, firmware, software (mobile, backend, and frontend), and systems engineers, you will work on integrating advanced technologies from IoT, wireless communication, and cloud computing into practical solutions for our customers, particularly in package delivery and logistics.

Your role will involve developing software that enables Amazon customers to control their access devices through a mobile application. You will also create solutions for third-party partners, assisting them in the installation and configuration of IoT-enabled devices via Amazon Key's iOS and Android applications.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct research, design, implement, document, and maintain both new and existing systems.
  • Create software services and tools that enhance the software development process and improve quality.
  • Engage in the full development lifecycle, from concept to launch, ensuring high-quality deliverables.

Your Contributions Will Include:

  • Collaborating with product and UX teams to devise engineering solutions that address customer needs.
  • Working alongside engineering colleagues to explore design options, prototype new technologies, and assess technical feasibility.
  • Participating in an Agile/Scrum environment to deliver top-notch software.
  • Connecting with the Android development community across Amazon to share insights and foster growth.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 3 years of professional software development experience.
  • Proficiency in at least one programming language.
  • At least 2 years of experience in system design or architecture, focusing on design patterns, reliability, and scalability.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Over 3 years of experience in the complete software development lifecycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations.
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science or a related field.
