Role Overview

The position involves supporting activities related to process automation systems. This includes providing preventative maintenance and 24/7 troubleshooting support for existing systems, aiming to minimize plant downtime due to automation failures while ensuring cost-effective and sustainable services.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage and troubleshoot process automation systems and their associated networks and interfaces.
  • Provide corrective support in response to system errors or failures, acting as the first escalation point from the plant.
  • Conduct predictive and preventative maintenance (PPM) and health assessments on systems.
  • Participate in software and hardware upgrades.
  • Adhere to established DOW Process Automation work processes, including Problem Resolution and Request Management.
  • Execute small project tasks, including system installation, configuration, design, and development.
  • Track and redeploy assets as necessary.
  • Facilitate training and knowledge transfer to plant system focal points and other support resources.
  • Collaborate with plant personnel on troubleshooting and upgrades.
  • Monitor system diagnostics in alignment with process control staff.
  • Engage in risk assessments for system-related activities.
  • Escalate issues to additional support resources and follow up as needed.

Qualifications

  • A Short-Cycle Tertiary Degree (e.g., Associate's Degree) in Electronics, Instrumentation, IT, Networking, or a related field, along with relevant experience in process control or manufacturing. Equivalent years of experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
